Personal Training

My holistic approach provides you with the tools needed to improve your health, fitness, mindset and accountability. We take the focus away from body image and the scales and place it firmly on achievements and noticeable changes that positively impact upon your daily life.

Enjoyable Exercise + Expert Guidance = Real Fitness Success

​​​​​I understand that not everybody is comfortable and confident in a gym environment (I have suffered from "gym anxiety" many times myself) and I will provide whatever support and encouragement you need, teaching you how to perform new movements safely and comfortably, enabling you to relax and enjoy your sessions and look forward to coming again!

 

I believe that you’ll achieve the best results through doing exercise that you enjoy. Goals and timelines are different for everyone, so our varied and challenging one-to-one sessions will focus on or combine the methods that best suits you, including;

  • Resistance (Strength) Training - from light therapeutic exercise with hand weights to Olympic Weight Lifting and anything in-between.

  • Speed & Power Training - ideal for improving bone density and muscle tone.

  • Functional Fitness & Mobility - where movement supports and reflects what you do in daily life.

  • Cardiovascular Conditioning & High Intensity Impact Training (HIIT) - in circuits.

  • Boxing pad work – great for stress relief!

I also offer fully monitored online programming and 'hybrid' training (a combination of one-to-one PT and fully monitored online programming) for those who are comfortable in a gym environment, or perhaps have a gym facility at home or at work, but who want extra external accountability and somebody to ensure that they progress effectively.

Strength & Conditioning Coaching

Bespoke programming to achieve sporting results, prevent injury or for injury recovery. 

Following an in-depth consultation, movement assessment and relevant sporting needs analysis, I will build a specific strength and conditioning programme for you to help you maximise your athletic ability, addressing any imbalances and improving resilience to injury.

 

I have worked with athletes at all levels, from international pro-rugby players, to former Team GB downhill skiiers, to amateur trail runners and triathletes with full-time careers and young families. 

 

Whether you are training for a specific, one-off event (such as a marathon or a triathlon), or you need to remain "match fit" across a season, I will take your personal and lifestyle circumstances as well as your sporting needs into account when designing your programme. This will enable you to avoid burn-out and overtraining and become the best athlete possible.​

My programmes include:

  • ​Speed training and sprint mechanics

  • Strength and power development

  • Muscular and cardiovascular endurance training

  • Sessions timed around the training schedule of your sport or event, periodised appropriately to avoid excessive fatigue when you need it least

  • Event preparation with programmes to support anything from your first 10K to setting a new personal best at a triathlon or ultra-run. 

  • Working with your physiotherapist to create a suitable programme for injury recovery

  • Advice regarding sleep, recovery and nutrition

We establish your current capabilities to enable me to fully understand your needs.

3. Fitness and Wellbeing Goal setting

We work together to set realistic, manageable and achievable goals that you can feel confident about achieving.

4. Bespoke Training Programmes

Taking everything that I have learned from the steps above, I design your unique training programme, fitting it around your lifestyle, challenges, goals and training availability. Nutritional advice and support is available if wanted to help you maximise results.

5. Progress Monitoring

I track, monitor and assess your progress and provide you with a point of accountability, helping to ensure that you progress at an appropriate and maintainable rate.

6. Support and Encouragement in a Friendly Environment

You can count on my full support to help you develop new skills and habits, encouraging you to stick to your adjustments for good. My friendly online community is also here to reassure you along the way.
